Applications for Sawtooth ARI’s 2025 Inner Space and Back Space program are now open. Applications close 11.59pm on October 2nd, 2024.

HOW TO APPLY

Please collate the following information into a single PDF (100MB max).

- Name

- Pronouns

- Contact information (mobile number and email address)

- Exhibiting Artist/s Name/s

- Curator (if applicable)

- Exhibition Statement (250 - 500 words. Please include a physical description of work/s)

- Artist Biography/ Biographies (150 words each max)

- Single Page CV for each artist

- Social Media/ Website Links

- Supporting Documentation (8-10 images or up to 5 minutes of video) For videos, please include a link within the PDF.

INFORMATION ABOUT APPLICATIONS

SAWTOOTH ENCOURAGES APPLICATIONS FROM

• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Artists and Curators

• Artists and Curators with Disability

• lutruwita/ Tasmania based Artists

• Early-Career curated/group exhibitions

• Works that are in progress

• Works that are experimental

• Sensitive to the physical space of Sawtooth (We are located in an old manufacturing shed, Back Space has minimal walls)

• Proposals that would like to engage with our Public Programming (eg. Workshops or Artist Panels)

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Exhibitors will be paid at $1500.

• Exhibitions run for a six-weeks, with a 3 day installation period.

• Openings are concurrent; i.e. one shared opening will take place for all gallery spaces.

• Sawtooth committee and volunteers will operate a bar on opening night.

• Exhibiting artists are to install their work themselves. Gallery technicians can be pre-arranged through Sawtooth to assist with hanging at the artist’s expense.

• Please note that due to the experimental nature of Sawtooth ARI’s physical space, there is limited wall space.

Sawtooth does not take any commission on the sale of works, however, we support sustainable arts practice and will facilitate sales between the artist and buyer in a discreet manner.
