Anna Barber

Anna (She/her) is a theatre/performance trained, multidisciplinary creative, currently based in Launceston, lutruwita. In 2019 she graduated with a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts from the University of Tasmania.

During 2020 Anna formed Twin Sticks, artistic performance duo, with her creative partner Lauren Neal, which led to: becoming resident artists at Sawtooth ARI; featuring their work in House Show 2.0 for Constance ARI in collaboration with Sawtooth ARI; and working with TasDance and Lauren Kronemeyer on her project After Erika Eiffel, which featured on the 2021 Mona Foma program.

Anna is currently undertaking her honours year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Utas, where she is researching the complicated relationship between theatre and contemporary arts in lutruwita and continues to refine her personal practice. She has often performed from local theatre companies in Launceston, most recently with Mudlark Theatre inc. She self identifies as a woman, a feminist and a LGBTQ+ ally and hopes to help locate space for emerging artists to find legitimacy without losing integrity, across art societies and disciplines.

Anna is the current chair of Sawtooth (2023-ongoing).
